A B O U T

said&done was established in 2012 by Gillian Lemon and Samantha Meisner.

We are dedicated to telling extraordinary stories and producing material rarely performed in the North West of England and touring that work internationally. As a company, we are also committed to providing employment and mentoring for young graduates alongside experienced theatre professionals.

Our aims are to:

  • create powerful theatre that explores challenging themes through the medium of contemporary heightened text;

  • to provide sustainable employment for both established and emerging artists including actors, designers, technicians and producers;

  • to develop new audiences within the North West

  • to develop relationships with similar international companies

In June 2012, said&done produced its premier production, bash: latterday plays by Neil LaBute, at the Unity Theatre, Liverpool to a very encouraging response. By marrying minimal design with a similarly minimalistic approach to storytelling we took our first step in establishing our company as one that delivers extraordinary stories that “pull you in and keep you in a state of quiet contemplation long after you’ve made your way home.” (The Public Reviews)

The company built upon this success with a production of When the Rain Stops Falling by Andrew Bovell in 2013.

In 2014, said&done co-produced Clybourne Park with Unity Theatre, our most ambitious project to date. Garnering critical acclaim, the company plan to build upon this accomplishment by expanding our audience and exploring the potential for international touring.

Artistic Associate, Judith McSpadden, joined the company in Autumn 2014.
